I would like to give you the option of splitting right now. We are discussing this back and forth, but if we do it right, many parts of the time calculation will have to be rewritten. It's not an easy thing to do, unfortunately. To give you some background: The right way is to first implement contouring (defining the workload of an activity). This then results in splitting (you just set the contouring to zero for a certain amount of time). However, this re-implementation of the time calculation carries the risk that some projects will look different after such update. And that is a big risk given the size of our installed base of Merlin Project.
